PRAYER - "My Heart Is Fixed"

When David stumbled upon Saul (who was pursuing to kill him) in a cave, David cried, "Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast." A true believer spontaneously calls on God in every crisis because his heart is fixed on God.

Psalms 57:7 - "My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise. ...For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds."

PRINCIPALS - "There Is A Reward For The Righteous"

Do you speak righteousness? Do you judge uprightly? Is there wickedness in your heart, or violence in your hands? The wicked go astray from the womb, speaking lies, stopping their ears, like poisonous serpents. God will break them. He will melt them. He will take them away. The righteous will rejoice at God's vengeance against the wicked. Here is all the preaching you should need to hear to convert your soul: "There shall be no reward to the evil man," Proverbs 24:20. So simple, but so profound.

Psalms 58:11 - "Verily there is a reward for the righteous."

PRINCIPLES - "In Times Of Trouble, I Will Sing"

Saul made a total of twenty-one attempts to kill David. David's recourse was always the same - call on God. "Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God: defend me from them that rise up against me. ...they lie in wait for my soul: the mighty are gathered against me." During his gravest dangers, David wrote poetry and sang songs to the LORD!

Psalms 59:16 - "But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble."

PROPHECIES - "Moab Is My Washpot"

David contemplated several regional conflicts he faced, and declared, "God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, ...Gilead is mine, ...Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; ...Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe." Concerning Moab, God washed away that incestuous seed of Lot. Concerning Edom, Jews cast out their shoe when they forfeited property. God forfeited Edom (Esau's descendants) - separated from Jacob's seed.

Psalms 60:11-12 - "Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies."

Do you ever stop to think about what you're thinking about? The Bible tells us that what happens on the inside of us—our thoughts, attitudes, and motives—are more important to God than what happens on the outside in our actions. You can fool people all day long by saying the right things, but the scripture tells us that God is looking on the inside at our hearts. He wants our thoughts and attitudes to come into alignment with His Word so that we can see His promises come to pass in our lives.
Remember, your life will follow the course you set with your mind. When you align your thoughts with God's thoughts, your life will follow the course He has prepared for you. Jeremiah 29 tells us that His thoughts are for our good. His thoughts are for our peace. His thoughts are for our victory! So today, align your thoughts with His thoughts by meditating on His Word. Let His promises sink down deep into your heart so that you can move forward in the life of victory He has prepared for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father God, today I surrender every area of my life to You. Help my thoughts to line up with Your Word. Bring your promises to my remembrance today as I meditate on You. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

During the course of a single day, thousands of thoughts flow through our minds. Some of them give us life as they build us up, while others tear us down and steal our hope. You were not created to be ruled by negative thoughts. God's desire for you is to take control of your thoughts and live life to the fullest, experiencing His goodness, favor and blessings no matter what you're facing.

You can't always control which thoughts come…but you can decide which ones you allow to stay around.

The Bible says that as a man thinks in his heart, so is he (Proverbs 23:7). It's so important to understand that our actions are determined by the way we think. So many times, we replay the same negative thoughts over and over. When negativity and doubt set in and stay in your mind, it is nearly impossible to set a course toward God's best plans for your life. In Psalm 77, the psalmist cries out to God as he wrestles with his thoughts. He says he's in deep trouble, he's overwhelmed with longing for God's help, he can't sleep and he feels rejected. We all struggle at one point or another with thoughts that take us down the wrong path. But God wants us to start thinking on positive things – things that give hope and life. When we do this, we'll begin to experience greater victory and see ourselves rising to new levels. Remember, when you take control of your thoughts, you ultimately take control of your life. This is just the beginning of what God wants to do in you and through you. He's got a great plan for your life to make a mark in this world! Victoria and I believe with all our hearts that God is going to help you rise to new levels this year and help you as you renew your mind with His Word and allow His Word to guide you. PRAYER - "Struggling With Unanswered Prayer"

Job pleaded with his friends to stop attacking him. He was overwhelmed, and struggling to make sense of his trials. He rehearsed all the prayers he had prayed, and all the efforts he had made to correct his mistakes and persuade God to deliver him from his plight. Sooner or later, we all get the feeling that God does not care or is not listening. But God IS listening. Just hold on a little longer, and you will see.

Job 19:7 - "Behold, I cry out of wrong, but I am not heard: I cry aloud, but there is no judgment."

PRINCIPLES - "The Wicked Condemn The Righteous"

Even after Job begged for mercy, Zophar resumed his verbal assault. Job's friends were viciously determined to prove that Job was a dirty rotten sinner and would never escape the wrath of God. This is an amazing state of mind for men who had never seen or heard of a Bible, never heard a preacher, seen a tabernacle, or had any organized religion. That sounds like multitudes of godless people in our day who viciously condemn righteous men.

Job 20:29 - "This is the portion of a wicked man from God, and the heritage appointed unto him by God."

PROPHECIES - "Job Speaks Of Life After Death And Coming Redeemer"

Here is evidence in the oldest book of the Bible that Job believed in life after death. He expected to see God and prophesied that his redeemer would appear on the earth in the latter days - a clear reference to the coming of Jesus Christ.

Job 19:25-27 - "For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God: Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another."

What God Expects

  What God Expects

 And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear
 the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve
 the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, To keep the
 commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day
 for thy good? —

 When a person accepts a position he should be given a "Job Description."
 It is always a good thing to know what is required, or expected of you.
 When your boss gives you a project at work, it is helpful to know what he
 desires the finished product to be. As children, you would go and clean
 your room to the level that you thought was "good enough," only to have
 your patents come into the room and point out places that were not "up to
 code."

 The same is with us today as born again Christians. Our old nature tempts
 us to live a Christian life that is "good enough" by the world's
 standards. But God wants to make sure we live a life that is "up to HIS
 code."

 How can we do that? I believe the answer can be found here in our text as
 Moses is giving instruction to the next generation of Israel that is
 getting ready to cross the Jordan. Moses instructs them on what God would
 require of them:

                  A Person to Fear - "...to fear the LORD thy God..."
                  A Path To Follow - "...to walk in all his ways..."
                A Priority in Fellowship - "...to love him..."
                A Plan to Fulfill - "...to serve the LORD thy God...to keep the                                       commandments...and his statutes..."

 What a great plan for all of us to follow today as we strive to live a
 victorious Christian life!

LIFE AND MISSION

SADHU SUNDER SINGH
 

“Then you will know the truth, and the truth
will set you free.” (John 8:32)
Sadhu Sunder Singh was born in September
1889, in village Rampur near Ludhiana (Punjab). It was a rich household
of Jat Sikh family. As a Sikh, Sunder read scriptures of Hinduism.
He often visited Hindu temples in company of his parents. By the age
of seven, he had memorized Bhagavad-Gita. At sixteen, he had mastered
Vedas and other Hindu scriptures. He also read Koran, the sacred
book of Islam. He got acquainted with some Sadhus who taught
him Yoga. Sunder did not marry but devoted his life in the service of
Heavenly Father. He traveled all over world, wearing a yellow robe, lived
on food offered by people and had no permanent residence.
It was his mother who initially encouraged him to become a Sadhu.
She once told him, “Do not be selfish and materialistic but search for
eternal peace and truth, be a Sadhu. He practiced meditation and yoga
but never achieved inner peace.
He had his education in Christian Missionary School at Ludhiana.
There he had his exposure to Holy Bible. He wasn’t interested in Christianity
but turned to be anti-Christ. He believed that Jesus had taught
completely wrong faith. He used to tear Holy Bible apart and burn it.
During his school days he often enjoyed stoning Christian Missionaries
and encouraged others to join him in his nasty activities.
His mother died when he was 14 years old. It changed his life alto-

gether. His search for truth started. He explored every possible field in
search of inner peace but could not find. All his study of scripture of
various religions proved futile. He was thirsty for His love and needed
water of life. No religious scripture that he had read could lead him to
the real path. Ultimately out of frustration, he decided to end his life, as
in absence of inner peace, he felt there was no purpose of life.
One day when joyfully he burned Holy Bible in presence of his father,
his thirst for truth overpowered his devilish mental sickness. Three
days after the incidence, he woke up at 3 A.M. and prayed, “Oh God, if
you do exist, show me the right way or I will kill myself”. He decided to
die under the running train that passed at 4 A. M everyday, behind his
house. He thought that he would find inner peace in his future birth. He
once again prayed with a determination to move to the railway track. All
of a sudden he saw a bright light in his room. He saw Jesus’ in the
radiance and heard His voice, “I am the way and the truth and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me”.
It was an experience similar to St Paul. St Paul had heard His voice
“Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me? It is hard for you to kick against
gods”. Jesus commanded Saul “ I am sending you to them, do open
their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from Satan to
God, so that they may receive forgiveness of their sins and a place
among those who are sanctified by faith in Me”. It changed his life altogether
and Saul (St Paul) turned from persecutor to discipleship.
Similarly, Jesus changed his life. Sunder turned to be disciple and
saved so many lives, preached the Word of God throughout the world.
He realized that Jesus was living God forever. Sunder fell on his knees
before Him and experienced an astonishing peace that he had never
felt before. The vision disappeared, but peace and joy remained within
him throughout.

This happening transformed his life. On his birthday in year 1905,
he took baptism in an English Church in Simla. It was against the wishes
of his family but Sunder became disciple of Christ. His father renounced
him and his family ostracized him. The day he left his house, his food
was heavily poisoned to kill but God saved him.
On October 16 1905, in a yellow robe, barefooted and without provisions,
he resumed his nomadic life. He preached the Holy Gospel from
village to village. He dedicated his life to the Lord, abandoned all possession,
maintained celibacy and lived on charity. He was convinced
that only in that dress he could reach and preach the Gospel in India.
In 1906, he went to Tibet for the first time. That country attracted
him, primarily because of the great challenges against evangelism. He
had expected very strong opposition and persecution in that region. On
high snow clad Himalayan peaks, he preached Gospel and faced persecution
in His name.
On his way to Tibet, he met Mr. Stoker, an American missionary who
also wore a yellow robe. Very often, they spent the nights together under
trees or in the mountain caves at an altitude of 5000 meters above
sea level. Most of the time, they slept without food and enough cloths.
Happily they endured all the hardships for the sake of preaching the
Gospel. Once Sunder fell sick, Mr. Stoker managed their stay in a house
of one European. Inspired by Sunder’s faith in God and his sincere love
for people, the host confessed and repented for his sins, surrendered
himself to the Lord.
For theological knowledge, Sadhu Sunder Singh joined ‘St. John
School of Theology’ in Lahore. He studied there for two years and later
resumed his journey to preach Gospel.
As expressed by him, once, while sitting on the treetop, he was

singing the hymn on his love for Jesus. One man pulled him down and
knocked him to the ground. He silently got up and prayed for the hostile
person. He told him, how Jesus loved the sinners. Jesus died as a
sacrifice to redeem the sinners. He told, Lord says, “Love your enemies
and pray for those who persecute you”. (Matthew 5:44) The said
person with his companion repented and turned to Christ.
Once while he was in Tibet, four robbers trapped him in the middle
of jungle. One of them brandished a sword. He meekly bowed his
head thinking that it was end of his life. This attitude was a big surprise
for them. Since he was penniless, they took his blanket and let him go.
Surprisingly one of the robbers called him back and curiously asked
his name. Sunder introduced himself, opened his Bible and started
telling him the story of the rich man and Lazarus the poor. One of the
robber said that the end of the rich man’s life was unpleasant so what
would happen in their case. Sunder preached to him the Gospel and
God’s forgiveness. The robber took Sunder to his home and repented.
In 1912, he initiated seclusion and fasting for 40 days. He failed to
complete his long fast because of his ill health. However the experience
strengthened his spirit.
He often suffered persecution but was always miraculously delivered
by the Lord. In 1914, Sunder preached in Tibet, a country with very
strong root of Buddhism. In the town of Rasa, a local Lama, sentenced
him to death for spreading a foreign religion in Tibet. He was thrown
into a drenched well covered with a lid on the top and locked inside.
The punishment was beyond his tolerance as there were corpses of
executed murderers, snakes, rats and other rattling animals beside
him in the well. He was without food, drink and clothes for 2 days. Third
day he saw a rope thrown from the top and he was asked to catch the
rope. He caught the rope and some one pulled him out. He wanted to

thank the helper, but to his surprise no one was there to receive his
gratitude.
Again he was recaptured and taken to the Lama. It was an utter
surprise to Lama as the only key of the lock on the well he had in his
personal custody. Lama asked him, how he came out? Sunder said,
“you had put me to die but my Lord is the Lord of life”. They realized
that Sunder was under the protection of a very powerful God so fearfully
asked him to leave Tibet. Lama managed to ban his entry into
Tibet in future.
In 1918, Sunder visited Madras where thousands of people gathered
to listen to his preaching. He focused his preaching on Jesus
Christ as the only redeemer. He testified, “His presence always brings
astonishing peace to me”. He said that in every situation, Jesus was
with him. While in prison, He was there with me. He transformed the
jail into a heaven and the punishment became blessings.
He said, “There are Christians, who do not experience His glorious
presence as something real, because Jesus is only in their minds not
in their hearts. Only who surrenders his heart to Him, he finds Him.”
While preaching, Sunder often used parables like Jesus. He once
said, “One day, I was taking rest after a long journey. Suddenly a sparrow
came towards me, as it was helpless to bear the strong wind blowing.
An eagle dived to catch the panicky bird. Sparrow flew into my lap
to save its life. By choice, it would not normally happen. However, the
little bird was seeking for a refuge from a great danger. Likewise, the
violent winds of sufferings blow us into the Lord’s protective hands.”
He preached in London (Great Britain) and in California (United States
of America). In1918-1919, he visited Malaysia, Japan and China. In1920-
1922 he went to Western Europe, Australia and Israel. He preached in

Jerusalem, Lima, Berlin and Amsterdam. Sunder remained modest
despite his fame. His attitude made his father repent at the later stage.
Sunder never thought of himself but only longed to follow Jesus, repaid
evil with kindness and won over his enemies by love. This attitude often
caused his enemies to feel ashamed of their evil actions. Once, he
was preaching in public, a fanatic (non Christian) punched his right
cheek. Calmly, Sunder turned his left cheek towards him. The attacker
left immediately but sought forgiveness for his sin he had committed.
Once Sunder told some harvesters, the parable of the weeds. They
became annoyed and one of them stoned at Sundae’s head. The stone
thrower was struck by severe headache and lied down on the ground.
Sunder took his sickle worked for him in the field. Harvesters soon
became friendly to him and invited sunder to their home. He opened
their hearts for Gospel. The next day when Sunder had left them, they
noticed that the harvest was much more than normal.
Sunder visited Tibet again in year 1929. He never returned back,
perhaps his assignment on earth was over. “For whoever wants to
save his own life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for me and for
the Gospel will save it.” (Mark 8:35)

Wake Up

In olden times, before going to bed, little children used to
sit in their grandmother’s lap and ask her to tell them some fairy
tales and stories of animals or dragons. Grandma was expected
to satisfy the children’s hungry imaginations with an exciting
story that might have a hidden lesson. (In fact grandmas used
to be living encyclopedias for their grandchildren.) After the
story, the little children would slip into the valley of dreams, sometimes
becoming a part of the tale they heard from grandma.
One of the stories grandmother’s told was about an innocent
dove and a shrewd cat. The story tells how the dove saw
a cat and became frightened, because the cat could devour
her. Terrified, the dove closed her eyes to hide from the sight of
ferocious cat. She thought that if she could not see the cat, the
cat could not see her. But Dove forgot that the eyes of Cat were
open to catch her and make her his prey. While Dove was
feeling hidden and safe, Cat pounced, and soon he was enjoying
a wonderful feast of dove.
Though this story was told to entertain children, it carries
a big message for lost brethren. Let us understand this story in

the context of our lives.
My brethren, you close your eyes, kneel down and worship
false prophets or idols or even scriptures of various religions,
feeling that you have hidden yourself from the ferocious
teeth of death. Death just laughs at your innocence, as your
closed eyes do not safeguard your soul. You pray before socalled
men of God, for your deliverance from the punishment of
your sins. You worship those who are also under the yoke of
sin. They will also face the wrath of the Lord for their transgressions.
They may be worse sinners than you, for they themselves
trample and lead you on the road of destruction. They
have strengthened your unbelief against God. Finally they will
also be in queue with you before the judgment seat on the Day
of Judgment. Like Dove, you hide yourselves in their shadow
and feel comfortable keeping a false hope of escape from eternal
death.
Let us presume that the prophets you worship were righteous
people and lived a holy life. Do you think their good deeds
are going to be credited to your account for your salvation? Will
your kneeling down before them or their images wash away
your sins that are written in God’s ledger? Have those prophets
ever said that they will take away your sins? No scripture that
you worship gives assurance for your deliverance. Rather they
speak loudly, “Your account will be opened by the Lord to weigh
your deeds for the granting of eternal life or eternal death.” Do
you know that your sins or virtues are not even accountable to
your own children? If your children cannot inherit your legacy
of virtue, how do you expect to be the heir of those men of God
who are not even distantly related to you? Open your eyes and
discard this deceptive belief: otherwise you will meet absolute
ruin. The Word of God says, “The soul who sins shall die”. This
is the verdict of God for you. I only want to give you a shake so

that you wake up, at least now.
The Word of God says that three of the most righteous
men of all time were Noah, Job and Daniel. Then it says that
even they could not save their own children by their
righteousness. How do you expect that kneeling down before
so-called men of God will save you from the fire of hell? Do you
know the command of God about whom you should worship?
Thus spoke God: - I am the Lord thy God. Thou shalt
have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee
any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven
above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water
under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor
serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting
the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and
fourth generation of them that hate me… (Exodus 20:1-5)
What do you gain in worshipping these prophets or images
or scriptures? You place them above God the Creator and invite
His wrath upon you and your family. Save yourself from the
wrath of God, as He is a jealous God. He does not accept that
you should worship anything other than Him. Do you know that
sicknesses you suffer are for your sins against Him? Do not
deceive yourself. Do not close your eyes and fall into the trap
of death but keep your eyes open and worship Him, and seek
His forgiveness of your sins. He is very kind and merciful God.
He will talk to you when you clear the fog of falseness you created
around yourself.
You are suffering from another false belief that all roads
lead to the same destination. This is for your short-sightedness.
You know that you carried your dead ancestors to the graveyard.
For you, the journey ends in the graveyard. But, beyond grave-

yard, your sins will lead you either to the fire of hell or to His free
gift of eternal life. He will grant you eternal life in His Heavenly
Kingdom.
You know that Jesus resurrected from the grave on the
third day and He is the living God. He gave defeat to death, not
only for Himself but also for you and me. We too will resurrect
after death and live, in everlasting life with Him in His Heavenly
Kingdom. Get yourself prepared for the resurrection, accepting
Jesus as your Savior. He has paid the price for your redemption,
but you must accept His free gift of eternal life by acknowledging
Him as your Savior. You are born in flesh and your body is
corruptible. It will perish. To have an incorruptible body, you
have to be born of God’s Spirit. Your sinful body of flesh and
blood cannot enter the Heavenly Kingdom, as nothing unholy
will see the Holy One.
Remember, you may accept Jesus as your Savior only
while you live on this earth. Once you die, you permanently lose
the free gift of eternal life. There is no second chance for it.
It is the ‘END TIME’ of this world. His second coming could
be any moment. So don’t delay accepting the free gift of eternal
life in Heaven. ‘Today’ may be the last day for you or for the
creation. The Lord may come any time. There may not be any
tomorrow for this earth and for everything in it. Accept Him now
and just now.
Remember the grant of eternal life or eternal death is in
the hands of the Savior who paid the price for our sins through
His blood on the cross.
Read the following verses with me: -
Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and fall short of the
glory of God”.

I accept that I have sinned. I hope you would agree that
you too have sinned. No one born of woman is sinless.
Romans 6:23: “for the wages of sin is death, but the gift
of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord”.
We have just confessed that we have sinned and fallen
short. We are in areal mess because the wages of sin is death
(eternal separation from God). We are sinners and on our own,
we are absolutely without hope. But the good news comes in
the second half of the verse. We do not have to suffer this
spiritual death on account of our sins because the “Gift of God
is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord”. He lived a perfect life
and died on the cross as our substitute and paid the penalty for
our sins. He graciously offers us forgiveness for our sins and
eternal life in heaven as a free gift. The gift is one we could
never earn or obtain at our own. It is not enough to know: we
must accept it.
Romans 10:13: “Everyone who calls on the name of the
Lord shall be saved.”
If we are willing to humbly receive Jesus as our Savior, we
will be saved.
Come, be my companion and follow the Lord to claim the
FREE GIFT OF “ETERNAL LIFE”.
Know your God: - All the gods and goddesses of the world
came to punish sinners. They came equipped with weapons to
kill you and me. They preached against sinners and put sinners
to death to make us understand the way of righteousness. Tell
me, are there any of your gods who loved sinners? Who loved,

lived and ate with sinners like you and me? You will not find a
single god other than Jesus who loved lived and ate with
prostitutes and the corrupt people of society. You know all His
apostles were from low and discarded lower communities of the
world. Read the Holy Word of God: -
Mathew 9:10-13; “And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at
meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came
and sat down with him and his disciples. And when the Pharisees
saw it, they said unto his disciples, why eats your Master with
publicans and sinners? But when Jesus heard that, he said
unto them, they that are whole need not a physician, but they
that are sick. But go ye and learn what that means, I will have
mercy and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous,
but sinners to repentance.”
See His love for you and me. He sacrificed His Holy blood
on the cross for saving sinners of all generations from the
beginning to the end. We have acknowledged that we are
sinners. Come and let us know our God, the only Savior, and
follow Him.
There is a wide gap between “Religions” and “Faith in Him”
The theology of religions is “DO IT”. You try to do good
deeds like praying, being good to others, or giving money to the
poor, but you never know how many good deeds you have to
do to secure heaven. Your credit report is hidden from you.
You can never do enough to reach His standard of judgment.
The Lord says “DONE”. Jesus has done for us what we
could never do. He lived a perfect life and died as our substitute
and paid for our sins.

A young man had been to Wednesday night Bible Study. The Pastor had shared about listening to God and obeying the Lord's voice.
The young man couldn't help but wonder, "Does God still speak to people?"



After service he went out with some friends for coffee and pie and they discussed the message. Several different ones talked about how God had led them in different ways.

It was about ten o'clock when the young man started driving home. Sitting in his car, he just began to pray, "God.. If you still speak to people speak to me. I will listen. I will do my best to obey."







As he drove down the main street of his town, he had the strangest thought to stop and buy a gallon of milk.

He shook his head and said out loud, "God is that you?"

He didn't get a reply and started on toward home. But again, the thought, buy a gallon of milk. The young man thought about Samuel and how he didn't recognize the voice of God, and how little Samuel ran to Eli.



"Okay, God, in case that is you, I will buy the milk."

It didn't seem like too hard a test of obedience. He could always use the milk. He stopped and purchased the gallon of milk and started off toward home. As he passed Seventh Street, he again felt the urge, 'Turn down that street."









This is crazy he thought and drove on past the intersection. Again, he felt that he should turn down Seventh Street At the next intersection, he turned back and headed down Seventh. Half jokingly, he said out loud, "Okay, God, I will."

He drove several blocks, when suddenly, he felt like he should stop. He pulled over to the curb and looked around. He was in semicommercial area of town. It wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst of neighbor- hoods either The businesses were closed and most of the houses looked dark like the people were already in bed.



Again, he sensed something, "Go and give the milk to the people in the house across the street."

The young man looked at the house. It was dark and it looked like the people were either gone or they were already asleep. He started to open the door and then sat back in the car seat.







"Lord, this is insane. Those people are asleep and if I wake them up, they are going to be mad and I will look stupid."

Again, he felt like he should go and give the milk. Finally, he opened the door, "Okay God, if this is you, I will go to the door and I will give them the milk. If you want me to look like a crazy person, okay. I want to be obedient. I guess that will count for something but if they don't answer right away, I am out of here."



He walked across the street and rang the bell. He could hear some noise inside. A man's voice yelled out, "Who is it? What do you want?"

Then the door opened before the young man could get away. The man was standing there in his jeans and T-shirt. He looked like he just got out of bed. He had a strange look on his face and he didn't seem too happy to have some stranger standing on his doorstep.

"What is it?"









The young man thrust out the gallon of milk, "Here, I brought this to you."

The man took the milk and rushed down a hallway speaking loudly in Spanish. Then from down the hall came a woman carrying the milk toward the kitchen. The man was following her holding a baby. The baby was crying. The man had tears streaming down his face.



The man began speaking and half crying, "We were just praying. We had some big bills this month and we ran out of money. We didn't have any milk for our baby. I was just praying and asking God to show me how to get some milk."

His wife in the kitchen yelled out, "I ask him to send an Angel with some. Are you an Angel?"







The young man reached into his wallet and pulled out all the money he had on him and put in the man's hand.

He turned and walked back toward his car and the tears were streaming down his face. He knew that God still answers prayers.

PRAYER - "Saved By Humbling Themselves"

After three blessed years, Rehoboam and the people forsook the law of the LORD. For their transgressions, God sent Shishak, king of Egypt, to oppress them. Shemaiah came again to Rehoboam and the princes of Judah and said, "Thus saith the LORD, Ye have forsaken me, and therefore have I also left you in the hand of Shishak." Rehoboam went into the temple and humbled himself before the LORD. Repentance works.

2 Chronicles 12:12 - "When he humbled himself, the wrath of the LORD turned from him, that he would not destroy him altogether: and also in Judah things went well."
